I've got several knitting projects in the works right now. Lessee:
a) a baby sweater
b) sock 1 of 2 done
c) I started a shrug pattern last night that I may end up having to frog
d) some other stuff I can't remember right now.
Working in a yarn shop is really bad if you suffer from startitis. I do, alas. So I'm trying to rein myself in a bit and actually get some stuff completed. The baby sweater would be a good start, since the shower is next Sunday. I've got about half of it done. But I really need a shrug, since it's starting to get cool here, and the part of me that always gets cold first is my upper arms. Weird, I know, but there it is. I need to have lots of warm stuff to wear this winter because we're going to be keeping the house cool to save on gas heating expense.* So shrugs and mitts and wrist warmers are going to be on my plate Real Soon Now.
News from the Dog World:
How you can tell that your favorite Destructo-Dog is feeling much better:
Two balls of yarn have been eviscerated
Your cell phone charger wire has been chewed in half
Your cable modem internet connection went out because he managed to pull the coax cable out of the wall and chew the end off it.
Dear Robert's out of town for a couple of days at a manager meeting, so it's just me and the dogs till Wednesday.
And in case you haven't seen it already:

*BTW, anybody else worrying about the economy???
Dear Destructo Dog:
I was just kidding about the yarn....now you're in the dog house...again.
Glad to hear you are back to your old self.

Yay for the man! I'm glad he's so much better.
Looks like I'm going to miss SnB cuz I have a friend coming in town Wednesday and we're getting together. I have to try to sneak up to Jatema and drop off some yarn for Elixabeth. Don't want her running out of yarn to knit.

What, no pictures of the evidence? I think you're makin' it up... that *sweet* doggie couldn't have done all that (snicker) And I'm sure the counter-surfing photo was doctored, too (hee hee). Glad Jasper is feeling well enough to eat all sorts of unsuitable items...

WEll it's true when a dog starts misbehaving, they are usually feeling much better. Sad he was so destructive, happy he's feeling so much better.
I could never work in a yarn store for that very reason, oh it would be a sad thing.
Let's see heat, what is that. Seriously I hope it's not going to be as bad as they are predicting because it's going to be horrible on so many people. Fortunately we keep a very cool house, and will be keeping it even cooler then normal if it's as bad as they say.

Yarn is on the way. You work at a YARN store, for heaven's sakes! You should have asked Margene for something else . . .
As to the economy, YES. Past years, it cost $325-$400 to fill the oil tank. This year it was over $600. I have an insert in my fireplace with a catalytic converter and a fan - I got a load of energy logs again this year, sort of super presto logs, and there are a couple of millwork places with scrap bins I go rummage through. And that's only about the staying warm portion of the economy . . .
