It's not my fault
It's all because of the Restless Knitter. She started playing with tablet weaving. Years ago, I'd bought Candace Crockett's Card Weaving, but it languished on my shelf because, honestly, I was scared to try it. It looked COMPLICATED.
But then the Restless Knitter tried it, and she did great, as usual, and she encouraged me to try. Since I couldn't find my book, I sacrificed a deck of cards and made some more, got some 5/2 perle cotton at JoAnn's, strung a short warp and made this:
It's smaller than it looks, only about 11" long. Here you can see both sides. It's slightly wider at one end than the other, but hey, it's my first piece of tablet weaving!
And it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
Thanks, Jill, for getting me started on ANOTHER fiber thing. I think.

Jill's post on card weaving got me interested, too. But I haven't tried it yet. Your weaving looks great!

I've been trying to win a little Weave-It loom on ebay for ages. (I'm not good at ebay...) Maybe I should try this method instead.

I've been toying with the idea of having my folks ship the loom that my father made for my mom when I was a kid... but I figured I needed another craft like a hole in the head. I'm trying to ignore you weaving people.. la,la,la,la *fingers in ears* .. stop tempting me with pretty crafts!!
